I'm not a full-fledged member of the Hatfield owners society. But I have two banjos with necks made and fitted by Arthur. They are the two best bluegrass instruments I've ever owned.
In particular, I have a 1929 TB-1 with a Hatfield 1930s style 1 neck. This banjo has its original shoe-bracket construction and flat flange. It also has the simple brass hoop tone ring. I recently installed a new AMBCO head and have been playing it a lot. This thing sounds amazing and plays like a dream. I love the light weight too.
Just wanted to give kudos to Arthur ...not only for his finished banjos ...but also for his conversions, necks and set-up. Thanks!
