I am amazed each time I have changed my strings at just how loud my banjo becomes. Instead of a twing I get a TWANG! Now I am wondering. My Goodtime open back has no truss rod in the neck so it cannot handle heavy strings. So, I use extra light but this time I have bought new heavier but light strings with gagues 10, 12, 15, 19 and 10. Now, before I put them on can anyone tell me if my banjo will be safe? I would not want to damage the neck in anyway.
Thanks all!
