Has anyone made changes to their 5 string resonator Goodtime? I was considering changing the head and bridge for starters. Would be interested in hearing about what you did and how you felt about the results. Thanks.

	schlange says: 5/28/2013 9:58:02 AM All I did was move the armrest down so it was much more comfortable. I'd be interested in hearing what others have done, though!
	BanjoJeff says: 6/3/2013 4:39:05 PM The only thing I did to mine was swap the bridge for a Desert Rose Z bridge. It definitely made a considerable improvement in the tone.
	sctoney says: 9/20/2013 3:07:02 AM I have 4 Derrings, a 2010 Deluxe, a Gumby-style GT w/resonator, a Gumby-style open back, and a GT2 new style. They are all great banjos. The Deluxe is perfect, and has required no adjustments. The Goodtimes, were very playable, but the actions were too high for my liking. I like the 3rd string to be 4/32" (to the center of the string) off the fretboard measured below the 22nd fret. The bridge measures .642" overall height, and I've sanded them down to bring the action down. The GT w/rez was sanded down to .580", and the GT2 was sanded down to .596. The open-back, which I had bought at a pawn shop for $115 had a very loose head, and it had caused the bridge to bow. After tightening the head, the bow is still there, but plays well anyway, so I've left it alone so far. The other thing (best thing) I have done is to put wooden armrests on all 4 banjos. What an improvement. Making the brackets for the GTs was the challenge, as there's hardly any room behind the j-hooks to attach a bracket, but I figured it out. Too bad Deering doesn't offer a wooden armrest & bracket at an option or accessory, as it really is quite an improvement. Stan
