I(all 57 years of me)just joined this group ; my BB is a ´26/´28

RB-3 ; this rather strange denomination simply means: a

´26 Style 3 BB pot w/ a ´28 RB-3 neck...I could say a lot about

these great banjos,and I probably will,but...as of now,let me just

state:the Ball Bearing Tone Ring was,obviously,a very labor

intensive enterprise,consisting of dozens of parts...no wonder Gibson simplified things...but : the BB system really

worked...it´s just great...period...See Ya McUtsi
