I recently obtained an old no-name (faux fret) fretless banjo that apperently had 6 strings (one extra hole in the middle of the peghead). Research led me to believe it might be a Buckbee of around the 1890's, made for the overseas market. The dowel stick has an imprint that says "Hero trademark" and "Köhler&Sons Agents Victoria Street Westminster London". I don't know how to post pictures here (it's my profile photo), but if someone could tell me more about this banjo, I would be grateful.

The seller equipped it with a fyberskin head, nylgut strings and a kno-knot tailpiece and it is a real player and very fun to play, even as a fretless novice.

By the way: I have no plans to sell it whatsoever, because I love it so much that I can hardly put it down!
