Yeah...how exactly should I set this thing up? Main reason why I ask is because it is a completely different animal to everything else I have used. It sounds great one day, then ok the next, and I am sure it is because I am not doing something right with the various components. Would appreciate advice on head tension, tailpiece height, neck relief, rod pressure, etc.

	Banjo Joe says: 11/23/2011 7:52:41 AM Mine changed a lot when I first put it together. It can take months before the thing learns how to be a banjo! Each time you change something it can take a day or so for it to stabilize. So...my settings are more or less G# remo, Neary torque setting 7.5, presto 5/16", no screw, C-rods no pressure at all. I always stand against a wall or door to hear all of the overtones, or have a good player handy to allow you to listen in front of it. Look for the killer 4th as well as 3rd string as it also has nice low overtones that, paradoxically, are brought out by a little tighter head tension than you would think.
