I think it was a success. I had 4 banjos, 5 guitars, 3 mandolins and a bass. 9 people sang songs. Only a couple wimpy ass country songs but mostly bluegrass.

I allowed it because they were the only songs the guy knew the words for but he promised to learn some real music for next time. And they were Johnny Cash songs so it wasn't too bad.

I had people from Facebook, Craigslist and even 1 showed up from BHO. I have a couple from Michigan heading down for the winter who said they want to attend when they get her next week, and even a guy from Maine who is going to be in town for a 3 day seminar for his job who asked if he could attend without his banjo because he doesn't want to bring it on the plane. i told him to come on, I got an extra one he can play. Maybe I should charge him a couple lobsters for banjo rental...

It was a little slow going at first, but once people got comfortable with each other it started to improve. I think it will get better as people get to know each other and the shyness wears off.

	loukiii says: 11/15/2013 6:33:59 AM The only real tips I have is to be welcoming so people feel comfortable and to invite a couple ringers to get things going. I made sure to invite a couple of my friends who know a bunch of songs and love to sing. And the fact that they are decent looking women didn't hurt none. lol I'm just sayin....

Only had 9 this time but, 4 of them were people I have ever met before. 2 were local, and 2 were snowbirds from Michigan who found out about it on BHO. I even have people asking if they can just come listen and hangout. So far everyone is playing nice and there haven't been any personality conflicts so it's all good.
