Guess I'll chime in here...started lessons with Al only a couple weeks ago (2 Lessons to date) but am already starting to see improvement in my technical handling of songs. Have been playing regularly over the past 5 or 6 years and have been establishing some well entrenched bad habits. I can see that together with Al things will come around. As I live in NE Montana...you can imagine there are not a lot of Bluegrass musicians about but there's always lots of Country music so being able to step in and adapt much of what we learn to other styles of music can open up a lot more opportunities to play with others. You guys that are over seas I'm sure understand. Anyway...just thought I'd say "Hey" to the group.

You'lee be picking breaks and smiling to yourself as you say, "Dang...that's how they do that!" I'm getting ready to head over to Al's for my lesson. Can't wait. I live about 30 miles from Al in Florida.

	vicpuch says: 3/5/2013 10:43:20 AM I live 160 miles from the nearest Wal-Mart...east, west or south. Most of us consider that paradise. Often we'll run down to Billings on a day trip...(260 miles) that however is a long day.
	Lewis842002 says: 3/6/2013 5:36:04 AM Montana is a beautiful place; I went to Yellowstone a few years back and enjoyed the wide open spaces. My friend Monty lives around a place called round top, he always say he is 3 hours for many were and never in a hurry.
	vicpuch says: 3/6/2013 5:17:26 PM Not familiar with Round Top...however there are many places that are 3 hours from anywhere. That's a big reason why so many of us would live no where else.
	MoPac fan says: 3/7/2013 6:02:52 AM I go fishing with my father on the Yellowstone there in Forsyth. I need to get out there. I been wanting to go on Father's Day weekend for the Quigly Buffalo Rifle Match. I hear there's a lot of pickin' going on that weekend as well as shootin'.
	banjolasse says: 3/7/2013 8:04:51 AM No we are talking. I had a friend living in Forsyth Montana back in the 80´s. He is now living in Billings. I did go there and stayed a couple of month´s and even worked with sugar beats for a while. That was around 1982. I did buy an open back banjo in some pawn shop at that time. We did go to Ingomar for some special food and I did drive my friends Harley back and forth the interstate. Was not that many places to go near by. I also got an 56 Ford F100 pick up that I drove down to LA later on. Great times and hope to go back some day to see my friend and the "Big Sky".
