My MB250 has no serial number....it has been completely disassembled and there's no number anywhere. Has anyone given any thought to engraving a s/n on one of these banjos? I thought, just for insurance purposes, in the event it was stolen, you'd like to be able to say there is a number and where it's located. They used to say to put your social security number on products like this....but I think people don't do that anymore. What do you think?

	TennBanjo says: 10/23/2014 2:16:59 AM I understand that Earl Scruggs engraved his name on many of the metal parts of his banjo. That might work.
	LGriff6250 says: 11/2/2014 6:42:39 AM RB- Mine doesn't have a serial number either. Maybe inscribe your date of birth and initials inside the tone ring- that's what I did. Your SS # could be an ID theft problem.

But can i find it? Can I hell.. I'm trying to date mine at the mo, not easy.. It has plain dot inlays, says 'MASTERBUILT' not 'MASTERBILT' Looks more like an MB100(not to be confused with the recent MB100s) in detail, but has a tube and plate flange, twin truss rods and all the pot size specs are those of a GIBSON RB 250… Has a GIBSON Truss rod plate and happy to say could pass for brand new when I received it, was never played and stayed cased since, probably the 80s?
