I first heard a Deering in Florida when I was on holiday in the 1980's from the UK. That was the sound I was looking for! I ended up with a GDL model in 1994 and have since also aquired the Tenbrooks Saratoga Star with Jens Kruger tone ring. Probably the best sounding banjo there is. I get a buzz from this machine every time I play it. The GDL is still a great banjo to play ,just a differnet tone and has a faster neck than the Tenbrooks.
