Eagle II Acoustic/Electric question

From Gingher on 1/26/2015 9:38:57 AM

Hey everyone!

I bought the Eagle II Acoustic/Electric about 6 months ago and really love it, as it has cut down the feedback through my amp. (It has the Kavanjo head on it). However, I still have trouble trying to switch to a "dirty" sound, it will still feed back if there is any gain on it. I play in a rowdy country/psychobilly/rock style band and sometimes the clean sound isn't enough. I play through a Fender tube amp with my Gretch hollowbody guitar and use it for the banjo too, don't want to haul two amps around to gigs if possible.

Any advice? Thanks!

Gingher

Psychobilly/rock. I love it.

You might try an effects pedal. A guitarist buddy of mine loaned me one of his to try out on my tube amp and it gave me some nice effects some with a lot of growl.

Thanks Tatersoup, I'll see if that might work!

Not sure about the Kevanjo, but with my fishman pickup, I just stuff the pot to prevent feedback. you can use a towel or foam, or whatever you got. Not sure how it would work with the Kevanjo since its more like an electric guitar pickup, but worth a try. Other than that, you need something where you can eq out the feedback, like a LR Baggs para DI or I use a Tonebone PZ Pre.

I've had both the Schatner and the Goldtone before the Kavanjo, and did use stuffing with them. But I want to be able to switch back and forth between clean and dirty sounds, so it's challenging. Thank you though, I may see if a light stuff might work.
