I just bought a Sierra made in Aug., 2006. How can I tell if if has the newer tone ring? Does anyone know exactly when it was introduced that year?

	brakeslide says: 4/3/2013 9:58:28 AM I also bought a use Sierra a couple of years ago. I just emailed Mrs bridges and gave her the serial number. She got back to me with in minutes with all kinds of info on that banjo. Great people to work with.
justtysen says: 4/3/2013 12:28:25 PM I believe the '06 ring was added during the first quarter of 2006. So if it was made in August as indicated by the first two digits of the serial number being 08 then it should have the newer ring. Also you can visually verify that it has the ring by taking the resonator off and peering from the edge of the rim in to the top surface of the tone ring. If it has holes drilled in it than it is the '06 ring. The earlier ring had no holes.
