I'm so glad to see there's a group for us here. I've got my Custom Calico here on my lap...love it...makes me want to sell my other banjo.

	peewee says: 9/1/2011 9:52:14 AM I am curious as to what you had done to your Calico that made it a Custom. I have 2 calico that are the blonde models. Is it engraved? Gold? and am I assuming that you had to order it directly from Deering, since most retailers limit the changes to 3.
	DIV says: 9/1/2011 10:04:29 AM you can see photos of it on my home page:(banjohangout.org/myhangout/pho...umid=2050) It's got the Tenbrooks pot with Kruger tone ring and the neck and resonator are Brazilian Rosewood. Also, the inlays are abalone instead of MOP....It's my dream banjo. I wanted the slimmer, classic Deering neck shape. And YES! PeeWee...you're right. most retailers only allow 3 custom options, otherwise it has to be ordered through the Deering custom shop, but we ordered it as a 30 Anniversary model (since that has the slimmer neck shape) and only 2 options: 1) wood upgrade and 2) inlay change. The abalone inlays was a minor change that I was able to ask for through Deering after they started production. It was a great experience to work with them and I ended up with a very special banjo that has unmatched tone...

	DIV says: 9/1/2011 9:37:39 PM I never cared for maple, but love the Calico's appointments. Not just inlays, but the coral snake binding as well. It wasn't cheap, but I was lucky to order it right before the price of Brazilian rosewood went through the roof. My other favorite is the GDL, but I don't for the name as much.

	peewee says: 9/11/2011 7:57:55 PM I am currently looking for an engraver to work on my Calico.. I will keep one stock, and the other is getting engraved, and gold plated. Like you I am in love with my Calico's. I always receive positive comments about their sound.
