I took a plastic finger pick, put it on a dowel rod the same size as my finger, and stuck it in a pot of boiling water for a few seconds...Then shaped it and let it cool....Sanded the protrusion down pretty short and put a fake fingernail on it....I am happy with the way it sounds and is pretty comfortable...I am not sure if I will be able to get used to two of them at the same time...

rgoad says: 6/10/2013 8:16:36 PM Except for the fake fingernail part Riley Baugus told me he does exactly the same thing. He also said the water is only as hot as fresh cup of coffee. Riley uses his middle finger in a similar fashion as Clawgrass, although not quite so extensively, so he does not use a pick except on the index finger. I plan to do the same thing you did, Ron, to try it out.
rgoad says: 8/25/2013 7:50:12 PM Did it and like the result a lot. I have an inexpensive white plastic Dunlop and it gets soft in hot water not even boiling. I filed it down and it has worked really well. I still like the plain finger nail, but when I need to let it grow back the Dunlop works great.

	ronwalker49 says: 9/16/2015 6:34:41 AM I have done just that with both the plastic fingerpick and also the middle finger pic from Dunlop it sticks a lot better to the plastic pick.. Even after roughing the surface of the metal pick it still comes loose after a while... However it works very well with the plastic Dunlop
