The no knot tailpiece on my 12" Lone Star has a red cloth material and a sticky backing covering the top of the tailpiece. I assume this helps to dampen some overtones. The cloth on my tailpiece is deteriorating and needs to be replaced. Does anyone know what this material is, where to get it, or an effective substitute? Thanks for any advice you can give me.

	calden says: 4/24/2016 6:39:50 AM Just get a little piece of felt and replace it. Anything will do, really, to stop the vibrations.
	Chuck Lee says: 4/24/2016 9:36:29 AM It's a adhesive backed felt sold in most craft stores and crafts departments. It comes in many colors, I believe it runs a dollar or two a 9" x 11" sheet. It serves the same purpose a chenille on the strings. It helps to dampen overtones. A single sheet would last most people a life time.
