Brand New Walnut "Woody"

From davidwigal on 2/16/2014 8:19:41 PM

Hi all and best wishes, I just received my brand new walnut "woody" banjo day before yesterday right from Mike's shop and the sounds that emanate from that 12" pot are just incredible; so deep and earthy it just about brings a tear to my eye. Only problem is that I don't want to put it down; it had to take all the will-power that I could muster just to break away and write this thread. Now I can see why having this forum is such a great idea; to let the world know just how awesome the Mike Ramsey banjo really is. Have a great week awesome banjo folk, Dave :-)

Haha I just pretty much wrote the same thing (to this Ramsey Banjo Owners group)! I go in and out of banjo modes...sometimes going weeks or months without playing. But I'm back into it and DANG I love my Ramsey Special. I'd LOVE to play/hear a Woody in person one day. How long have you been playing? I started in something like '08 (?) but haven't been consistent so I don't know what that equates to. It's probably like having a good year or two under my belt if I'd been consistently taking lessons and practicing!
