Just got me a CEB-5! Love the sound, but having all wound strings makes slides very noisy; most likely my poor technique. Any suggestions?

Also, I was thinking of trying Planet Waves XLR8 String Lubricant to see if that would help reduce slide noise.

I have the standard medium gauge strings that came with the banjo. Is it okay to use XLR8 on these strings? Any risk of damage to the fretboard?

	rmcdow says: 7/12/2015 6:40:57 AM I wrote Don Hergert on the hangout about this same issue I was having with my CEB-5; he suggested D'Addario flat-wounds ECG25 XL Chrome light gauge warm/mellow electric guitar strings, which I found I can buy from Just Strings without having to buy two sets, as they sell single strings also. I'm waiting for these to arrive, and have asked Don about the string noise with slides. He assures me it will go away.
