Hey everybody - just wanted to alert you guys to a recording I made of Buckeye #159 (posted in the "sound off" forum):
http://www.banjohangout.org/topic/315884
159 has a rosewood tonering, a no-knot tailpiece, and a rennaissance head. To me the banjo sounds incredibly "honest" since is the tone coming out isn't colored by a skin head or metal tone ring. Still letting this banjo teach me how to play it properly - I've found a light touch gives a really sweet response - but I'm really enjoying the process!
