Hi all,

Can anyone tell me what model banjo I have?

The OD on the resonator is a little over 8", the OD of the head is a little over 7". There are 16 head tensioning bolts.

I am missing one of the head hooks and nuts (bracket is there, just not the bolt/nut). If anyone has one or knows where I might buy one, I'd appreciate a note to ltousig@gmail.com.

	Jrbianchi says: 12/12/2011 8:42:03 AM Lew - The number of this model is a bit of a mystery. It's an early to mid 30's model, which you can tell by the script decal on the headstock and the metal hardware on the dowel, instead of the biscuit shim adjuster seen on 20's slingerlands with a 7" pot. Yours is essentially the same instrument as the Maybell model 0 65, except for the sixteen hooks. The 0 65 is listed in an early 30's catalog as having 12 hooks. However, if you see the photo here at the bottom of the blog entry theukaholic.blogspot.com/2011/...lele.html (and please forgive the photo at the top!), there's a similar model with 16 hooks. Like yours, there was no model # on the dowel, but it shares many of the same features (16 hooks, central dowel resonator attachment assembly, and the same neck - sorry - no picture of that). Even the resonator, other than the decoration, is the same turned Wilson Brothers type. Sorry that I can't help you on the number!

You can get new from Elderly and Uke World, but it looks new, so that's not always good. You might also try Retrofret here in NYC - retrofret.com/ They don't have parts on their website, but if you call Peter over there, or anyone actually, they can look through their massive drawers of parts and find what you need generally.
