I oft get comments of suprise that my banjo sounds as good as it does when they realize it's an aluminum banjo. My Epiphone MB-200 is my first banjo (it was super affordable) and I did a lot of setup to get it to sound that way. I'm proud of my instrument; It's a great banjo.

	Klondike Waldo says: 2/2/2011 5:13:48 AM That MB 200 has better hardware than the Fender equivalent that costs up to $100 more. How good it sounds, in my experience is partly due to your set up and partly to how you pick it. My MB200 is my favorite too.

Anyway they sound as good as they can when set up properly. Any banjo does. There are those who have no savy about set up, just naturally assume that an aluminum rim is no good and can never be good just because it is not wood. Thus they are surprised.
