Welcome to the group BanjoBelle! Great looking banjo you have on your Hangout page. Is that the Peerless? Kind regards - Steve

Yes it is-and on the next string change I'll put the rest of the Grover tuners on so they all match. *laughs* What banjos do you have in the pic there?

It sure looks like a belle of a banjo! I have an Epiphone 200mb, that's the aluminum rim, and a Recording King open back. I only started playing in January but am already seriously hooked. There's an Old time group here in Copenhagen I've joined. Not much Bluegrass here I'm afraid.

I love Old TIme and Celtic music as well-not a strict "bluegrasser". You've been playing a few months longer than me.

But you're way ahead of me in terms of experience & instruments played. You must have a good musical ear. If I ever "master" the banjo I'd love to learn the mandolin. Love that sound too. Right now tho I'm enjoying my banjos :)

How's your playing doing?

Going slow but fine. So desperately want to get to the "destination" but know that it doesn't really exist & the journey itself is the magic of music. As yet it's still something of a mystery, but one which opens up and reveals parts of itself each day.
Learning to play the banjo truly seems to be a Zen process. Body, mind & instrument have to react & be at one with each other.
Even at my darkest moments of despair though, I still love the sound & feel of my banjos. Don't believe I'll ever give up. There's no instrument like the banjo, whatever its shape or form :-)
