ok I am now a fan. I picked up an old stew mac pot put a cheap pawn shop telecaster neck on it and made a 6 string banjo. I may have succeed in offending every one...lol In all truth it does quite well playing jazz chords and closed chords, it makes a wonderful travel guitar (small light with a full scale neck). I will pick another pot up in a heart beat, since they really seem to work. I have a great banjo already so this is just something I did to use up parts sitting in my shop. It is to bad that these pots are not being made any more, I mean how much cool can you get for so little. I have made a few stainless steel rims in the past that work very well, but, the cost of drill bits kinda elimates that deal.
I would like to find a dynaflow transmission from the 60's because I belive the turbine in the torque converter is alumnim and may have banjo potential. Any one that has one or has taken apart a torque converter? maybe....
