I built my Stew Mac from a kit back in the early 70s and it has proven itself a great player. I don't play it with the resonator, since I have a wooded lot and prefer the bark to remain on the trees, but it plays plenty loudly without. I turned it into a frailing banjo long ago. One really nice thing about it is how solidly the neck connects to the rim. No flex there at all, so it intonates and stays in tune beautifully. See my avatar pic or home page for pics.
