Since Cripple Creek seems to be a main goal for everyone, myself included, I thought I would share how I am trying to learn it.

I started one month ago and I am just teaching myself with stuff I have found online. So far so good.

After playing around with some basic rolls, I started learning with this tab:

I picked it up pretty quick. Not super clean, but good enough and fast enough that it felt like I was playing a song.

This site has a lot of beginner songs all with three levels and each song/level has a midi at 3 different speeds so you can get a sense of what it should sound like.

I am currently working on level 3 and trying to make it sound a lot better and cleaner before I move on to anything more complicated.

I have no idea if this is the best way to go about it, but it is free, easy, and I am having a lot of fun.

	Jim Stevens says: 8/9/2013 10:18:56 PM Hi Fish, As an alternative to what you have learned already you might try the instructional videos of Rob Bourassa. His approach is more about learning by ear and repetition. No tab was involved. I had no problem learning from him and he starts you out learning pull-offs, hammer-ons, and slides. His Cripple Creek is a series of about a dozen lessons that last less than 5 minutes each but he packs a lot in them. Here's a link to the first one: youtube.com/watch?v=f8Xn3xCqF_I enjoy... jim
