So I have been playing for about a year but I slowed down for about 5 months, life got in the way. So last week I decided to learn foggy mountain breakdown. Mostly because someone told me it would be to hard for me. Now I am dedicated I posted what I can do after a week on my my homepage. Let me know what you think I have a ways to go but I feel pretty good I can do that much after only one week. I am struggling with pull offs they sound funny but everyone tells me that they sound better as you speed up. Has anyone noticed this? I would love to chat more with beginners we are after all on the same adventure walkin the same road. Might as well have a friend to walk next too!!

	KrissyJean says: 9/16/2012 2:18:55 PM Thanks Deb I took some advice from some other players slowed it down and I am working out a few kinks I think I will record my self again next week and see if we can all tell the difference. What are you working on? I love hearing how other players are learning.

	Deb D says: 9/17/2012 3:24:58 PM I am working my way through the Janet Davis beginner's book, but take a break now and then to learn a song from Ross Nickerson's "the Banjo songbook". I also purchased Ross' accompanying cd and dvd, so I can see him play or play along with him (slow, medium, or up to tempo) on the cd. I've not been able to locate a teacher nearby, but have had the opportunity to sit down a few times with a local banjo "star" who doesn't formally teach, but will give guidance. I am so amazed at the resources available here and elsewhere on the web, so will be challenged forever!
	ITACUD says: 9/17/2012 7:31:46 PM I bought a couple books and videos but had a problem right off because one teacher used the thumb for 3rd string and the other used a finger......I couldn't get past that!!
