In this case, this banjo is one of the most rare to come across. This "Fat Rim" Granada F.O.N. 9556-26 has its original flange intact which is just unheard of. This Granada started as a tenor in 1929 and has since been converted to a Flathead 5-string. The hardware is all original Prewar with the classic Prewar Granada patina. This banjo also comes with an extra Gibson Doehler flange for use to protect the original. The extra flange is from a 1949 Style 100 and has been gold plated and fitted to this rim. FWIW I will NOT ship this banjo with its original flange installed but will gladly swap the flanges and ship with the 1949 installed and the original flange will ship separately. The pictures will show BOTH flanges. This Granada resonator shows concentric rings with the original beautiful finish. The neck is a new curly maple from Steve Huber and the tone ring is of the latest batch from Jerry Sloan. With this Granada are 2 separate appraisals (well above the asking price) from highly respected authorities. We can arrange a time to come here to the shop or meet in lieu of shipping. A new Calton case is available with this banjo for an extra $1000 (New from Calton are now $1500)... Otherwise this banjo will be in an older "The Gibson" TKL.
