This is a Hatfield Custom banjo with tiger stripe maple neck and resonator and nickel plated hardware. It features the Hatfield 20 hole tone ring which is SUPERB. I custom ordered it in 2004 and I chose the Gibson Special Florentine inlay pattern which I always thought was unique. At the time I didn't think about ever re-selling it and I thought it would be cool to have my name on the peghead. I've asked Arthur Hatfield about having his name replaced with mine and unfortunately, it's no easy task.
The only other issue with this banjo is a 1cm chip in the finish on the edge of the resonator (see photo).
It is a Very comfortable neck and an all-around very well built banjo that needs a new home so it can be played and played and played.
I've got it set up nicely with a Snuffy Smith bridge, newish Levi leather premium strap and a fresh set of AMB Cryogenic strings. There are 2 spare Hatfield compensated bridges included in the case pocket of the included TKL hard case.
