$1,125 USD
I don't normally stock left handed banjos, but this one is for sale on a stock basis with the usual 7 day approval period. I built this banjo as a custom order, but the customer has reneged. He says his catalytic converter was stolen and he can't afford to pay. I will sell the complete banjo as shown for $1125, or I will sell just the neck for $550 without the tuners and dowel stick hardware, or $650 with those parts. If the neck is sold I can make a right handed neck to fit the pot.
The banjo has a 12" wood tone ring rim and 25.5" scale neck made from red maple with persimmon trim. The head is a Renaissance, and the hardware is brass. The tuners are Gotohs from Bob Smakula, who also provided the head and tailpiece, and the rest of the hardware came from Balsam Banjo Works except the Van Eps style tension hoop and the dowel stick yoke, which I made. The nut width is 1-3/8" and there are spikes at the 7th, 9th and 10th frets. The neck has a two way truss rod, accessed from the heel. The finish is Tru Oil. The fretboard dots are brass and the nut and pip are Corian. If anyone will buy this banjo I will be very grateful, as I am preparing to move this summer and could use both the space and the money.
