I bought this banjo pot at the local flea market, there is a link below to the discussion in which a very helpful person told me it is a Harmony and posted a link to a banjo with an identical pot. I wasn't sure whether to post this listing under Harmony or under my own name since it's half of each. The pot is a sort of an archtop, the outer ring is a round hoop with a spun leaf over it, sort of like a Little Wonder tone ring. The inner ring is solid metal and sits in a separate groove. There are two hooks and nuts that don't match the others, on either side of the tailpiece. I don't know where to find matching ones, but these ones function fine and were on the pot when I got it. I disassembled the pot and cleaned all the parts with a damp cloth, but I have not refinished it or touched up the black paint on the bottom surface. I put a Remo cloudy low crown head on the pot.
The neck is made from African mahogany and looks surprisingly similar to the wood on the sides of the rim, though it is not an exact color match. The fretboard, peghead overlay and heel cap are all made from Rocklite Ebano, which is an environmentally friendly and uniformly black ebony substitute. The nut is Corian. The scale length is 25.5 inches and the nut width is 1-3/8. The finish is Tru Oil. I made the dowel stick yoke from aluminum. The Gotoh tuners, tailpiece and head all came from Smakula Fretted Instruments. The neck has a two way truss rod accessed at the heel, and I tried to echo the peghead shape of the old Harmony banjo in the link in the discussion below, though I am sure it is not very exact since I didn't have a straight-on picture to draw from. I will be happy to answer any questions. I can add a mahogany armrest for $35, and spikes for $5 each. Thanks for taking time to read this long description.
