Hey, everyone, I have a very wonderful original 1978 Gold Star G11 FE tube and plate raised head for sale. This banjo has been well loved and looked after since it's construction.
The G11 is a fantastic Mahogany tube and plate raised head banjo. But what makes this banjo special is that is was one of the few ordered with a double cut head and a FULL FLYING EAGLE BOARD. I have been playing & buying older Gold Stars for a long time now... and you really don't see the double cut & this board on very many of them.
This banjo is very clean with no rash on the resonator, a very smooth & extremely comfortable and well-done speed neck, ( non-factory, done later in its life ) the nickel plating has held up fantastic in it's 39 years of being played and used. The banjo also still has the original blue lined hard shell case that the banjo shipped in 1978.
