I had a bunch of cherry and red maple pieces left over from trim work in the house. The pieces were all planed and seemed too nice to burn, but I needed to clear out some space in the shop so I decided to make a batch of rims and see if people might buy them at a reduced price. Regular price for 11" rims is $90, and $100 for 12", but these are $70 each if you buy one, $60 each for 2 or 3, and $50 each for 4 or more.

The picture shows the stack of rims, and they are numbered 1 to 9, starting from the top. Each rim will have the wood, diameter, wall height, thickness and top shape listed. All dimensions are in inches. There are some chipped out spots on the inside of some rims, but nothing structural. The outsides, tops and bottoms are smooth. I can cut any of the flat top rims into a wood tone ring profile on the router table. Just let me know if you want that done. Each rim has 4 very small screw holes in the bottom, where the faceplate was mounted. I always put a rim cap over these when I build a banjo.

The maple is odd. I bought it on an online auction in 2021. It was listed as air dried, but the sawyer had used stickers only 1/4" thick and had banded the pile together as soon as it was cut a month before he said it was dry. This is a terrible way to handle fresh cut lumber, but the resulting wood is interesting looking. The wood was just starting to spalt when I got it, and had turned some range of colors.

If you're interested in a rim or several just let me know which ones. I will do my best to keep the list current for which ones are still available.
