The Eelpout Stringers LIVE at the Harvest Festival!

Posted by frailin on Monday, November 24, 2008

Yep, the fish schooled up last Saturday night to play for the MBOTMA Harvest Festival here in MPLS.  Nothing like warming up a cold winter's night with some hot old-timey tunes.  The lovely Ms. DeAnne was there with a videocam and recorded the fish follies.  Hope you enjoy!

Here's the opening number - Snake Chapman's Tune combined with a perennial favorite, Fly Around My Pretty Little Miss!

Next was Keeper singing about Angelina Baker's buns. We followed that up with Liberty.

Forked Deer is a fish favorite.  Here's our version.

Nick loves Chinkapin Hunting.  Here banjo and fiddle combine before we crank it up into June Apple.

This is a song we get asked for all the time.  A touching Utah Phillips ballad about the Orphan Train.  Keeper does a fine job singing it (as always).

'Course, we couldn't finish a set without an appearance of the Boatman.

And any old-timey performance requires a waltz.  This is Nick playing Southwind.

Looks like I missed a real good time.  Thanks for the video!
