Improving on whats turned into old hat

Posted by moparbanjo on Sunday, November 16, 2008

As I read all the posts that are put in the different fourms, I hear from a lot more biginners than seasoned pickers, but when it comes back to trying to really learn new stuff the challenges are still the same, I find myself thinking back on how I got to where I am today, how did I learn and know and retain what Ive got, I guess the answer is time and never stop picking playing over tunes that Ive been playing for 30 years, I guess playing the banjo is a life time learning curve and not something that can be done in 2 years or 30 years, if one keeps on picking theres always something that were gonna want to learn, its good to have a place like this to come for support. Hello Mr. James,

I am a new resident and pastor in Parsons - would like to speak with you when time permits regarding the possibility of some lessons....am a complete novice, but love the banjo (5 string picking) and hoping to learn to play a little gospel as the years come on.   Am also 44, married, 3 kids here with me and one long neglected banjo.  I can be reached at Faith Baptist Church in Parsons or at PastorHarrison@tds.net
