It's right at 9:00 p.m. on Nov. 14th, it's raining and I've got the blahs.........I think thats how you'd spell it. I am back on pretty consistant practice schedule of no less than 30 minutes a day, and I have been doing that for about 3 weeks now....solid. Sometimes I get in a groove and practice hours at a time.......drives my wife crazy......picking just rolls then a little cripple creek , then back to rolls, then try to pick a little by ear......and so on....I've told her I'll get better but it would go a little faster if I had a teacher soooooooo....I'm kind of looking around for one. I think besides someone teaching you new licks and songs they will also be a source of encouragement and hold me accountable and make sure that I keep my practice up! I can do a few simple versions of songs and can tell everything is coming together pretty good I just get ...frustrated at times and wish progress was alot faster!!!!!!!!!

Chris, keep at it... my husband used to hide when I'd practice; now he asks me to play. You CAN convert them--candy helps.

Since I have switched to clawhammer, I don't get any complaints from my endless hours of practicing. They didn't gripe when I played bluegrass but I felt like I couldn't practice at certain hours without being rude. Good luck with a banjo mute.
