Banjo as Climate Change

Posted by Joanchek on Monday, November 10, 2008

Great weekend at the beach!  Saturday's weather was cool and wet and yucky, so we played some games and watched movies and had some quality time visiting with my sister and her family and some friends.  Sunday was a perfect day, weather-wise.  There is something that feels indulgent and luxurious about sitting on the beach (albeit in sweatshirts and long pants) in the fall.  We ate great food, had some cold beverages, got almost all of the Christmas shopping done at the outlets and I was back home this afternoon.  As soon as I parked the car, it started to snow.  It's funny to think that 24 hours earlier, I was sitting on the sand, feeling the sun on my face and watching crazy children wading in the water.  That's the kind of climate change I can live with.

I just got a new cell phone;  my old smartphone died a long death filled with suffering and pain.  I received a free six-week trial of total web access with the new phone, so the kiddo got online and downloaded a Foggy Mountain Breakdown ringtone for me.  It makes me smile.

And now I can settle in for a winter in the Poconos.
