i have a goldtone CB100 with a Fibersyn head, it has a nice sound to it, if i stuff some cloth between the dowel and the head, otherwise it is much too echo sounding for my taste. a piece of cloth is cheap enough but it is a mute so i also lose something. i was told that a natural skin head might take care of the echo,(unwanted sustain). i am curious to have a second opinion on that before installing a skin head. i have adjusted the head tension back and forth and that didn't resolve the problem, thanks jim k
