No banjo Blues

Well we're in sunny Dongara, on central coast of Western Australia doing a circus project with the famous "Fatt Matt" Yates...aka.. Fatso. We are teachng a group of 30 local kids circus skills during the week and doing a show with them on saturday, its all good!...EXCEPT...I didn't bring my banjo, Why?? I hear you ask? (go on- ask!) .... well It was a bit of a hassle to do the exaggerated packing procedure needed to safely take the Stelling on the aeroplane, and I didn't really fancy taking the travel banjo-bg mini, cos Im so used to playing the big Stelling now. I do have another banjo in perth that Im trying to get sent here but it'll take a few days. so until then I'm singing the "no banjo blues"- Accapella! ....The missus seems to be enjoying it the most.

You'll have to play a few podcasts on the computer and play along with your 'air banjo'

hmm.... wonder if we could start up our own International Air Banjo competition like they do with the Air Guitar.

Poor bugger Gareth, I know how you feel, I'm off to the Harrietville Bluegrass Festival soon and my middle (clawhammer) finger nail has broken clean off. Needless to say when I play now it sounds a bit like a goat farting through a box, not the best sound to show off your talents as a clawhammer banjoist. I have adapted a metal bluegrass pick as a substitute pick by putting it on backwards, and it provides a loud but tinny sound which I guess is a bit better than listening to a goat fart it's way through "Cluck 'ol hen". Sometimes life can be cruel. YeeeK!!!!!
