52 Years Ago, today -- on Oct. 27, 1956:
Famed banjomaker and designer, David L. Day
passed away, in a small retirement home, in Melrose, Massachusetts -- just north of Boston.

He was reported to be 93 years of age at the time. (Although his actual birthdate is still uncertain -- with reports varying between 1862 and 1865.)
