While lusting after the Cello banjo in the Hangout Draw and hoping no one else enters the draw, I decided to find out more about these instruments and played around with Google. Some interesting pictures of old banjo bands turned up, some with and some without cello banjos. I'm posting them here for your perusal:

I love old pics like this. While I wouldn't want to revert back to those days there are some elements of community and more informal (ie. free) venues of entertainment. Ah, the simple life.
