I will be spending the weekend teaching and performing at the Old Songs Festival in Altamont NY (Outside of Albany)-this is the best folk festival around which really really features Traditional music (no singer songwriters) from around the world-Scotland, Ireland, Quebec, India, Blues, Old Time (Riley Baugus and Ira Bernstein) and DANCE too. I will be there with one of my bands, Groovemama, which plays some old time but alot of New "time" music with Donna Hebert and George Wilson, Stuart Kenney and Max Cohen. We have alot of fun also teaching the kids band, The Great Grooveband, all weekend (our 9th year!) then a performance on Sunday afternoon. I am extremely excited to see Liz Carrol again, and plan on having a few tunes with her and John Doyle, as well as playing with Riley and Ira and anyone else! Come on down! It is a great time and very very family friendly!
I am especially excited about the Banjo Blowout Workshop I will be doing with Riley! Should be rockin'!
iFiddle, theyBanjo is just about ready to go to production and I hope to have it in my hot little hands in about 2-3 weeks! Yay!
