I took my banjo completly appart, everything but the tuners basicly. The pot needed to be cleaned, badly. It was a new expirence for me, and it was a lot of fun. I'll post pictures of it when I'm dont with my post. I learned a lot about the banjo in the couple hours I was cleaning it up. And I think I've found a new hobby, tinkering. I took the strings off, and cut my finger, it's still sore, then i took the tail pice off, then the pot. And then I took the pot apart. I did it all yesterday cause I had ordered a new bridge and new bracket hooks, and they came in the mail yesterday. But of course I can't put it all back together totally till I get my tension hoop fixed. IT's 1/4 in too big, kinda defeats the pourpose of a tension hoop if you can't get even tension all the way around. Hopefull that will be fixed tomorrow.
But the pot looks like a totally new one since I cleaned it. If anyone in Springfield MO area is timid about fixing their banjo them selves, give em a call I'll help. (It helps to have a crappy one to learn on) :)

Congradulations! Had a teacher refer to the Banjo as the last of the "Hot Rod" instruments, because there is so much you can do to it, if you aren't frightened of it.
