Well my first year at the University of Georgia is finished. It went by fast and I got better at banjo during the school year too. Fortunatley, Athens is a great place for any type of music and is probally the biggest music scene outside of Atlanta. I got to see the Del McCoury Band when they were in Athens back in August and Little Roy Lewis about a two months ago. I also enjoyed becoming a radio dj and hosting "Bluegrass Junction" during the spring semester on 90.5 FM WUOG. I had many callers every week during my 2 hour radio show and was happy to get that good old bluegrass music out there so people can hear it over the radio and internet. I plan to continue the radio show in the fall semester.
Now I'm taking a short break before my summer job at Woodruff Scout Reservation in Blairsville, Georgia starts up at the end of this month. I will be teaching Boy Scouts different merit badges and playing bluegrass & old-time banjo for the scouts and staff.
