A weekly check-in on the Banjo versus TV project — J.R.'s resolution to spend more time in 2008 on his banjo than on TV.
Another week in which the TV (6 hours 42 minutes) beat the banjo (3 hours). I think I'm hitting a low patch in my enthusiasm. Which happens. (See Reid Toth's article, "Motivation, Procrastination and Instant Gratification" in last month's Banjo Newletter.)
Also in the last week:

OK, then. Time for a reality check. Let's get back to the banjo. Just remember, most of those TV programs will never be of any use to you later in life. Learning how to pick your banjo will.
That's my attempt to motivate you back to more time on the banjo and less time in front of the TV. So far you are still ahead with the banjo. That's good. :-)

Thanks for the pep talk, PruchaLegend. I just need the "more time on the banjo" part of that equation. I'm really not trying to reduce my TV time. The amount of TV I'm watching -- an average of 48 minutes per day -- is much less than the 3-hours-per-day national average. I'm OK with that number.
(I'm pretty sure 61 minutes per day is higher than the national average of banjo practicing, but I can't find any figures for that. ; ) )
Besides, if I reduced my TV time I'd be able to get away with fewer hours of banjo! I need that motivation.
