We had company over last night to share corned beef and cabbage on St Patricks day. They have 3 boys, one is 6mos, one is 3 years old, one is 5 years. The 3 yr old, Reese, saw my banjo as he played before dinner, and while eating, wanted to hear the banJO. (emphasis on the JO) Despite his father's repeated attempts to tell him that it is pronounced banjo, he wanted to hear the banJO.
He kept asking, so after dinner I helped Reese and older bro Tyler play a bit of banJO, then I played Little Birdie for them. It seems universal to dance to banjo music if you are a child, and these boys were no exception. A lot of the old tunes must be basically dance tunes. Not having a lot of rythm in me, I have been a little slow in figuring this out.
It was nice that they enjoyed it.

Way to go! You probably sowed the seeds for another banjo player. [:-)]
