hi all,
wanted to change the blog entry because it hasn't been Father's Day for, well, almost another Father's Day.
truth is, i've been in deep hibernation for a variety of reasons and that also means i've barely touched my banjo for most of these months.
i've recently started picking at it again (pun intended) and one thing i'm doing my best to remember, just play. how much or how little doesn't matter; whether or not i'm using my finger picks correctly - if at all - doesn't matter; whether or not i master 'old grey goose' doesn't matter; straps, drums, strings whatEVER doesn't matter as long as i just let myself play.
that's an important word that is. especially in terms of joy.

A great woodworker once said, "just start working the wood, and the mood will come to you." Same with banjo. Just start pickin', and the mood will arrive on its own.

Hi Annette, I totally agree with your blog. But glad to hear your back at it. Pickin is so much fun and good for almost what ever ails you as they use to say. The banjo can sure be a friend when you need one. It's just like a good friend a good listener but don't say much unless you want it to.
Have a great day.
