As if I don't have enough projects going. I just ordered a piece of mahogany to use for a neck on a gourd banjo. I have had the gourd for a while now but since my "Shop" is the backyard on a sunny day, which we haven't had, I haven't started just yet. I'm still hoping to find a drawing for the minstrel style neck, but I'm afraid I'll have to guess at it. this is the implementation of a long awaited project. For the last three years i tried to grow gourds, and couldn't get one large enough. Finally I found the one I wanted on the internet and bought it. For the past few months I've been looking for a deal on the neck blank, and now I found that as well. My daughters boyfriend contributed a doeskin for the head. My dream is slowly becoming a reality, I'm hoping it doesn't turn into a nightmare.
