I've just got to say the "classifieds" section is fantastic.
Being in Australia, it has been so hard to get people in America to sell me parts and banjos. So many people won't post to me or carn't due to some laws you have over there. At last I can buy almost anything without hassel other than the postage. Whats with the postage, it's up and down like a yoyo. I have purchased 4 banjos with hardcases on different occasions all of the same size and weight. The prices have not been the same each time.
No.1 banjo postage $160US, No.2 banjo $68, No 3 banjo $350 had to pull out of that one because the banjo was $350, No. 4 banjo $300. Is this right such a difference? I know America is a large country and it may have to travel a bit further, why soo much?
Another problem at this end is if it is over $1000 they want to charge an extra $300+. An example is I brought a Goltone banjo $1400US thats $1650 Australian at the time, which it is a great banjo it really is, by the time I paid post, duty costs, tax, etc It cost me $2600 Australian/$2200US. Wow I felt I should have saved for a plane ticket and picked it up myself and had a holiday.
Anyway I feel safe buying here that noone will rip me off. I feel it is better than ebay anyway. So thanks to anyone who has sold to me.
Best wishes, Leon.

Leon, there is no accounting for shipping rates, apparently. A few months back, I had estimated the cost to ship a banjo; one day it was around $17 and the day I actually shipped it, it cost $11. Only difference was that the box was not sealed up yet; no change in weight or dimensions. Passenger air fares are weird, too!

Shipping rates are a nightmare here as well. I won't buy anything if they won't quote the shipping up front, some places on Ebay like to sell stuff cheap, and make up their profits in shipping charges.
