I mentioned earlier that my Saga kit was missing a few items, one of which was a plastic fretboard marker. I was able to find about everything I needed from the web, but the plastic dots did not appear. While I was looking I found some Abalone marker dots of the same diameter, and being overly ambitious I ordered enough of the dots to to the whole fretboard, and a star. I have never done inlay work before. for the dots, which are quite a bit shorter than the plastic ones, I got a 3/16 dowel rod and I intend to cut a piece just enough to shim the abalone dot flush with the fretboard. As for the star, I know I want it on the fifth fret, other than that I'm clueless. Any advice on inlay would be appreciated.
