Dumb Luck Truck

Posted by tomthacker on Tuesday, January 8, 2008

A while back I was having a discussion with a friend who was being raked over the coals by a relative over the value of hard work and luck has nothing to do with it, etc. I have never discounted the value of hard work, but I've also never discounted the value of dumb luck. I've seen a lot of good people work hard and get rewarded with more hard work to do, I've also seen more than my share of slackers shoot straight up the totem pole. Anyway, I wrote a song about it for the guitar and this evening I played around with the banjo version and posted it in my music files for you enjoyment or ridicule as the case may be.

I never underestimate the value of luck.  It is the ability to recongnize it, and take advantage of that luck when presented to you.

The harder I work, the luckier I get!! Thats what my grandfather used to say!
