We have a new year.....2008. Gosh, it seems like it was last summer that we were worried about y2k. Now its a full 8 years in the past. Time goes so quickly. I remember my Father telling me not to rush things....time goes by fast enough. Was he right. Time seems to be going by faster than ever. As a kid, I thought my grandfather was old and now I am one!!
My classes start back soon and I'll be taking a lot of education classes as I want to teach.
The one thing I do miss is my banjo. Since I've gone back to school, my picking has come to a grinding stop. Over the holidays, I went to visit my parents. There is one song that my father really likes to hear so I pulled out the old ax and started trying to pick.....I've never been so embarrassed in my life. It was like I had never picked before....it was that bad. The banjo went right back in the case and i haven't taken it out since.
There was a time once that I even considered trying to put a serious band together but that idea has flown out the window. The rediculous thing about all of this is that I have two banjos that any pro would be proud to play sitting in cases now that I can't play.
